Frequently asked questions
What is total cost of ownership (TCO) for an industrial printer?
TCO = purchase price (CAPEX) + all running costs over the period you own the printer. This calculator shows it over 1, 3 and 5 years, plus the cost per line and per product.
How is break-even calculated?
Break-even months = CAPEX ÷ (annual savings ÷ 12). It is only shown when you enter an expected saving, so the result is never based on an invented number.
Why does a cheaper printer sometimes have a higher TCO?
A low purchase price is often offset by higher consumable, maintenance and downtime costs. Over 3–5 years these running costs usually outweigh the difference in machine price.
